so we went camping on Lake Champlain and found the mother load of Chanterelles. We carried about 8 pounds out of the woods and there were many more to be had. i've never seen so many, and so big..... can't tell you where, sorry.

so we hit the road headed east from san francisco. Rhyolite (one of our stops) is a designated ghost town about 80 miles west of the Nevada Nuclear Test Range (over 1000 recorded atomic detonations.) The town is in ruin, but i don't think from bombing...just from old age.

ahh the road. sure is nice to be away from the city.
Rhyolite ruins. Some of the buildings that still stand here were used in a couple of Hollywood movies, including Six-String Samurai a 1998 post-apocalyptic action/comedy film
